The Natal Family
Welcome to The Natal Family. We support families to have a confident, empowered and enjoyable experience into, and through, parenthood.
From birth workshops to baby colic, potty training to sleepless nights, dads role at birth to preparing a sibling for a new arrival – this is what we specialize in. Through our DaddyNatal, BabyNatal and MummyNatal programmes we support you whatever stage of pregnancy or parenthood you are at.
Our ethos is about CHOICE – we will never teach you one method and claim it is the ‘best’ – we know all families are different, and so we will guide you through your choices, so you can work out what is right for you – for your family, your pregnancy, your baby.
Why choose a Natal class?
Our teachers are friendly and professionally trained, and our classes are recognized as being of excellent quality – we have taught on behalf of Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and presented at several key professional events, including the University of Worcester Birth Conference and the Royal College of Midwifery Conference.
Our best-selling first book ‘The Expectant Dad’s Handbook’ was released in May 2013 and has sold over 60,000 copies. It was also used by Russell Brand to announce his pregnancy in 2016, appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show, and has a well known readership including McFly dad Tom Fletcher.
Our expertise means we regularly work with the media. We have featured on Channel 5’s ‘The Wright Stuff’, BBC 1s ‘The One Show’, and various BBC/CH4 documentaries, including the BBC3 documentary ‘How Sex Works’ in Jan 2012, BBC2 documentary ‘How to be a Dad’ in Feb 2012, Sky documentary ‘She’s Having a Baby’ in August 2014 and filmed with Jon Richardson for a Channel 4 documentary.
We have also spoken at key industry conferences, including in 2015 at The Royal Society of Medicine and at Mumsnet’s ‘Bumpfest’ as well as written articles for most major parenting titles and organisations, including Gurgle, Mother & Baby Magazine and Prima Baby.
